R&GV Train Ride

Enjoy a ride through our rural museum grounds, located in the scenic heart of the Genesee Valley! Every child will visit our Pumpkin Patch to choose a small baby pumpkin to take home to decorate. Enjoy our friendly petting zoo after your ride! Leave room for lunch from Z Best Hots of Pittsford.

Your fun and exciting train ride experience starts just 20 minutes south of Rochester! Enter our historic Industry depot and purchase your ticket from the friendly agent inside. Tour our displays while you wait to board your train. You will be welcomed aboard by friendly volunteers as you enjoy your ride aboard restored freight train cabooses. Disembark at our Restoration Shop to tour the largest collection of historic trains in New York State. Peek behind the scenes to see how we preserve Rochester’s rich railroading history for future generations to enjoy. Your return trip arrives at Industry depot, where you will have time to enjoy our displays and museum grounds.

Purchase tickets upon arrival. No reservation required, seats available first come, first served. Trains depart every half hour from Industry Depot.

Industry Depot is located at 282 Rush Scottsville Road, Rush NY, 14543. We are easy to find from Exit 11 on I-390, and just 20 minutes from downtown Rochester on Route 251 West!

Your ticket includes a train ride and admission to our museum grounds and exhibits. Ages 4 and under ride free, no ticket required.

The Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum can trace its roots back to 1937 as the Rochester Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. Since our museum was established in 1971, we have preserved more than 40 pieces of historic railroad equipment along with our 1909 Erie Railroad passenger station to bring Rochester's rich railroading heritage to life.
